Just Scott / Shred Krueger - Tonight She Comes
I’m opening with a cover of a song by a favorite band of mine that featured on Episode 52 – ‘Tonight She Comes’ was released in 1985 by the Cars specifically for their Greatest hits album, and contains what is widely considered one of the best pop-rock guitar solos of the 80’s. Doing the track more than ample justice is Cleveland’s Shred Krueger, who worked with Just Scott to create what is, simply put, an outstanding take on the track and the perfect opener for our second covers Episode.

The Motion Epic - Lips Like Sugar
This track appeared on Episode 45 and I’ll say it again – it’s dumbfounding that the original never charted in the U.S. back in 1987, especially seeing how it’s the song that launched Echo and the Bunnymen into public awareness – over time, the song has been covered by some of the biggest names out there, including Coldplay, Seal and the Smashing Pumpkins. This version is by The Motion Epic, a fantastic group of 80’s devotees who make the 80’s sound brand new again and are a great example of the Modern Rock Evolution.
Tone of Arc - Electric Avenue
I left this track off of the first covers Episode for time, so it was the first on the list this go around – When Eddy Grant’s ‘Electric Avenue’ hit MTV in 1983 it got everyone’s attention for sure – the song refers to the first market street in London to have electricity, and gained notoriety for the Brixton Riots of 1980. The song hit #2 on the Billboard charts, but its popularity has endured for 40(!) years. The cover is by Derrick Boyd AKA Tone of Arc and he takes it to another level.
Zero-G Racetrack - Bad Romance
It’s no secret that I am the lead vocalist for Silicon Valley’s Zero-G Racetrack, and we never expected but are always completely humbled by the positive response we continue to receive for our take on Lady Gaga’s monster hit ‘Bad Romance’. We did get a bit lucky; we released the track just as the PR machine for Gaga’s ‘House of Gucci’ kicked into gear, and the cover has been well received by Gaga’s fanbase. We’ve got an in-house remix of the track locked and loaded, and it sounds AWESOME – we’re sorting some label details, but look for it in the near future.

Inertia - Games Without Frontiers
Peter Gabriel’s third solo album (commonly called Melt), contains one of my favorite tracks – 1980’s ‘Games Without Frontiers’ was Gabriel’s first Top 10 solo hit and featured backing tracks by Kate Bush, which is awesome – The UK’s Inertia’s covered the track in 2017 which features Canadian vocalist Ayria, AKA Jennifer Parkin and it sounds great.

Neuropa / Psyche - Mad World
I know, I know, ‘Mad World’ has been covered a zillion times, and I almost passed over the Psyche / Neuropa joint for just that reason. I’m glad I didn’t, because this outstanding take on the song fits the Z-GR! Radio vibe like a glove. The track is featured on an album called ‘Numbers Covered II’ alongside some other very cool covers – it was unavailable for a bit, but has recently been re-released – there are some really cool covers on the album, and it’s well worth a listen.

Chonny Jash - Ain't No Rest For the Wicked
Cage the Elephant ‘s 2008 debut record holds one of the greatest rock tracks ever, and when it popped up in my YouTube feed a few months back, I decided to hunt down a cover – I was not at all disappointed to come across Chonny Jash’s take on the song – I love this version – it is an AMAZING and unique take on ‘Ain’t No Rest For the Wicked’ and one of the best covers I’ve had on the show.
Fury Weekend - Another Brick in the Wall
My personal favorite album of Pink Floyd’s amazing catalogue is The Wall, it was released in 1979 and contains one of Floyd’s most enduring songs – released in 3 parts, the song went to #1 in both the U.S. and the UK and has been covered by multiple artists including Korn and this artist, Belarusian Ars Nikonov, who goes by the name Fury Weekend. Fury Weekend is amazing, and this cover has clocked over 6 million streams.
Alternative State / Animator / Georgenson - Black Hole Sun
Released in 1994 as the third single from their critically acclaimed album Superunknown, Soundgarden’s Black Hole Sun peaked at #1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Tracks and helped Superunknown debut at #1 on the Billboard 200.
This cover takes the song in a VERY different direction, so much so that it could be mistaken as being a completely different song altogether, which is in my view, the best way to approaching a re-imagining- the result is very powerful in its own right, and has become one of the best received covers on the show. This 2025 cover of Black Hole Sun is by a multitude of artists including Alternative State, Georgenson, Animator and Rev Theory and it’s very, very cool.
Becca Star / Elay Arson - Immigrant Song
Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song released on 1970’s Led Zeppelin III – the record peaked at No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. and spent 13 weeks total on the chart. Internationally, it reached No. 7 in South Africa and No. 4 in New Zealand. The song is instantly recognizable by Robert Plant’s Viking battle cry opening and the thundering rhythm section that supports Jimmy Page’s huge guitar riff.
Elay Arson does a great job re-imagining the track with an assist on vocals by self-described Scottish sprite Becca Star – covering Led Zeppelin’s ‘The Immigrant Song’ is no small feat but they really hit it out of the park.

Chroma Cloud - Knights of Cydonia
‘Knights of Cydonia’ was the third single release from Muse’s 2006 Black Holes and Revelations record, and hit the #10 spot on Billboard’s Modern Rock Track chart becoming their third top-ton hit on that chart.
Chroma Cloud is a really great synthwave duo out of Columbus, Ohio and made up of Jamie Ravine and Brian Skeel – I had their first single release ‘Mine’ way back on Episode 8 0- admittedly, I never, ever saw this one coming – their cover of Knights of Cydonia is nothing short of amazing – seriously, this is one of the best covers I’ve had on the show, and that’s saying something, no lie.
Glow Wave / T3my - We Might Be Falling In Love
The only new cover track on the show is our closer – Glow Wave, who has been on the show with a cover of Siouixie Soux’s ‘Kiss Them For Me’, also produced a cover of Victoria Monet’s 2020 short but oh-so-sweet ‘We Might Be Falling in Love’ – it’s a duet, so T3my has stepped in to lend his voice.
