Luv’ / Matt Pop - Trojan Horse - Matt pop 2025 Album Remix
Luv’ was a Dutch female pop group that became one of Europe’s most successful girl groups in the late 1970s and early 1980s. They’re often compared to ABBA, though their sound leaned more toward disco and Europop – this year, Z-GR! Radio favorite Matt Pop breathes new life to their disco-era hits, including this week’s opener, the wonderfully modernized 1978 hit Trojan Horse.

Francesca e Luigi / Paul Rein - Watch Me Dance Tonight (Paul Rein Remix)
Francesca e Luigi is a Swedish Italo disco and synth-pop duo created by producer–musician Martin Permer and vocalist Jessica Brannefors – they are a ton of fun and in 2022, they enlisted veteran Swedish pop artist Paul Rein to remix their breakout track ‘Watch Me Dance Tonight’ bringing renewed attention to the duo in the Italo revival scene.

Breathe of My Leaves - Sweet Music Man
Kenny Rogers’ “Sweet Music Man” was written by Rogers himself, and though it wasn’t a major chart hit, the song inspired covers by likes of Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, and now, Vancouver Breathe of My Leaves, a creative collaboration between award-winning director Stephano Barberis and vocalist Jordan Gant whose reimagining of the 1977 track is a highlight of their 2023 album, the Radiant Believers.

The Fancee - Hi Life
The Fancee is an indie pop and electronic music project created by Raymond Lee and Tyler Hader – they debuted on Episode 22 and ‘Hi Life’ is their latest – it turned up on my Release Radar last week and I wasted little time getting it into your ears.
The EMC - In The Wind
It’s no secret that I dig catchy guitar riffs supported by cool synth tracks, especially when a nifty guitar solo lights things up along the way – newcomers to the show, Brighton’s The EMC have a really great sound and ‘In the Wild’ is a really great track.
Black Nail Cabaret - Let Me In - Mark Goshee Video Mix
Black Nail Cabaret is a Hungarian dark pop duo formed in 2008, consisting of Emese Árvai-Illés (vocals) and Krisztián Árvai (keyboards). Their track’Darkness is a Friend’ is a favorite of mine, but I decided to spend some time digging through their stuff and reached way back to 2011 for the Mark Goshee Video Mix of ‘Let Me In’, which opened their 2012 album ‘Emerald City’.
Machinista - Molecules And Carbon (Erotic Elk Crawley Remix)
Swedish darkwave music duo Machinista is John Lidqwister and Richard Flow – I’ve featured multiple versions of ‘Molecules And Carbon’ on my playlist and this show – I absolutely love the track and the Erotic Elk Crawley Remix brings some nice guitar beds that really let the vocal breathe. Machinista has performed at various venues and festivals, sharing stages with acts like Apoptygma Berzerk. Their live performances often feature a dynamic setup, including live guitar elements and collaborations with other artists.
Cece Vee - Long Weekend
South African singer-songwriter Cece Vee featured on Episode 39 with her fantastic track ‘Play God’ – I noticed that she has a new release so I dropped it into my earbuds and was not disappointed ‘Long Weekend’ is a very well crafted story of a long weekend that marks the end of a long slide into the end of a relationship. Most importantly, it sounds great.
Teenatown - Black Magic
I absolutely love Teenatown – she’s a New York City artist who is known for her introspective and genre-blending approach to pop and rock music – ‘black magic’ is found on her excellent 2025 EP where the butterflies are’ – the track is all about on the challenges faced by marginalized communities – challenges that simply shouldn’t exist. Come for the commentary, but stay for her voice, which is outstanding.
Strange and the Familiars - This Is A Test
Portland-based indie band Strange & the Familiars is Fronted by Stephanie Strange and is known for combining elements of rock, jazz, soul and of course, Stephanie’s flair for theatrical storytelling. I was introduced to the band when Z-GR! Radio artist Melinda Kausek suggested I check them out, and I loved what they do and returned to their Halloween 2021 release ‘Strange World’ for ‘This Is a Test.’

Zero-G Racetrack - Life Is Short
This week’s closer, ‘Life is Short’ is by my band Zero-G Racetrack – it’s our tour de force that moves across a variety of styles and eras in musical history and is the magnum opus of the band’s impending debut album of the same name. Grab a snack and settle in for this one, it’s a journey.
