Tristan Ivemy - Born to Be Ready
Space Sharks - Run For Cover
The Space Sharks are Lonnie Richard and Michael Martino and I’ve reached back for the opening track and a major highlight of The Space Sharks’ first album, which was released in 2011. According to the Sharks themselves, ‘Run For Cover’ is about a black hole that suddenly appears and swallows up the sun. According to me, and as you just heard, the track’s a banger, no lie.
Pink Nun - Quirky TIme
Norway’s Rock trio Pink Nun calls their music Pink Wave Rock, a blend of 1970s–80s New Wave, punk, and garage rock – the band consists of Annette Gil alias PinkNunette on Vocals, Mattias Hellberg alias PinkMoozy on all things strings, Tom Torjussen alias PinkTom bangs the Drums, Søren Hunskaar aka PinkSir picks up the bass duties on stage. Their fan base is known as “Nunkies” and since I’ve made it no secret that I’ve been a fan since their first appearance back on Episode 30, it looks like I’m in need of a colorful new habit. 2024’s Quirky Time — April 2024
Zero-G Racetrack - Sexy Pretty Thing
Full disclosure – I’m Zero-G Racetrack’s singer/lyricist, so I have some insights into our song ‘Sexy Pretty Thing’. Bill Williams, the better half of Z-GR! had the idea to re-imagine a post-punk short and sweet power guitar track as an Electronic Rock song. For the vocal, I was looking to create a big, fat, memorable hook that was pure, stupid sexy Rock and Roll fun while keeping my tongue planted firmly in my cheek. Consider that box checked.

Olive Dares the Darkness - Drop Gun
Olive Dares the Darkness is an electro-punk band based in Charleston, South Carolina. The band consists of Becca Darling on Vocals and keyboard, Mike Baum on Guitar, Danielle Carlson on Drums and Mr. Minister on Bass
The band formed in 2019 and has been active in the local music scene, performing at venues like Tin Roof in Charleston. They are also known for their online radio show, ODDcast, which airs on SLERadio.com. ‘Drop Gun’ is off of their outstanding first album and I think you’ll dig it as much as I do.

Puzzled Panther - Venus In Furs
This week’s cover is a modern reimagining of The Velvet Underground’s 1967 classic ‘Venus in Furs’. The lyrics were inspired by the 1890 novella of the same name by Leopold von Sacher-Masoch, which explores themes of masochism, power dynamics, and erotic obsession. As such, the track is considered one of the most daring and experimental tracks of the 1960s, showcasing the Velvet Underground’s willingness to confront taboo subjects head on, and while it never charted, the song if often cited as one of the most influential tracks in rock history.
Puzzled Panther is a New York-based band led by songwriter Victoria Espinoza and guitarist Kay Bontempo and their take on the song is really, really great.
Octavian Winters - Hermine
Formed in 2022, Octavian Winters San Francisco-based and NEWHD Featured Artist Octavian Winters has a new release and as anticipated, it’s really awesome – the track marks a return to the band’s edgier sound, serving as the first single from their upcoming debut album, also titled Hermine, which expected in early 2026.

They’ve been releasing some really great material lately, so make sure you check them out.

Abz Winter - Ran Out of Love
Our latest NEWHD featured artist addition is the UK’s Abz Winters, who started out with a bang in her late teens, winning the AMEX GOLD UNSIGNED competition, recording a bunch of great songs that have been featured on Spotify editorial playlists, radio stations including Kerrang! Radio, Radio WigWam, and now NEWHD Radio – her sound has been steadily evolving from Pop with attitude to Rock with attitude and she and I sat down for a Take 5 interview to talk about the things that make her tick, it was a lot of fun, so take some minutes to check it out.
